firme forte!!

this week all our plans feel through (the usual) and we didnt know what to do. so we decided to visit Giselle (i dont remember if ive already talked about her or not) and we got there and she was talking to someone so couldnt come out just yet, but her little 5 year old daughter started asking a bunch of questions about missions and there was 2 men standing kinda close and one goes ``wait.. are you guys mormons?? i have your blue bible!!`` so we started talking to them and the one who has our ´´blue bible´´ had to leave so we continued talking to the other one, Anderson, and ended up teaching him and Giselle and it was super awesome!! we gave Anderson a Book of Mormon and everything.

we went back a couple days later and anderson was out front just chillin and he was like ``i called a friend to come over just now but he couldnt and i almost went inside to take a shower but something told me to stay here for a little longer, then you two showed up!!`` so we taught him some more and he started talking about how happy he feels and how much he loves to hear our messages and that he wants to have the joy we have so we invited him to be baptized on may 9 and he said ``of course ill be baptized!!!`` AND THEN the next day we went there again (they live super close to our house) and giselle was there too, so we taught them both and then we invited giselle to be baptized the same day as anderson (this is probably the 3rd time shes been invited to be baptized since we started teaching her.. haha) and she said ``im still not ready`` and then anderson goes ``GISELLE. youve got two choices here. Gods plan or hell. are ya really gonna sit in the middle?!`` and so she accepted! haha and then we were trying to set a time that day and giselle said she has work until 11am on saturdays and anderson said ``THIS IS YOUR BAPTISM DAY AND YOURE REALLY GONNA WORK?! listen. ill drive to your work and pick you up if i need to!!!`` hahaha it was so funny! but theyre both super excited for their baptisms!

and so yesterday, we went to pick them up for chuch but giselle had a lot of stuff to do since shes redoing her house so she couldnt come and when our ride got there (a man in our ward) we realized we didnt have another girl to be in the car so we took giselles 5 year old daughter......... remind me never ever to do that again. it was a conference so they didnt have primary or anything so she stayed with us the whole time......... she was pinching my bum, licking my arm, doing headstands, and to top it off- she started patting my belly and then told sister camargo that it looks like i have a baby in there.(obviously the workout plan isnt very effective.) haha but ive definitely earned a lot more respect for anyone who´s ever been or ever will be a mom.

Oh also!! when we went to pick them up anderson was like ``sorry if you tried to call this morning... i had my phone on my lap friday night and forgot and when i stood up it fell into my cup of beer.`` and under her breath sister camargo said ``yeah well that wouldnt have happened if it was water....`` haha but anyway... we´re teachin about the commandments tonight.

fica firme. fica feliz.

tchau tchau!!!

I'm healthy!!

Don't worry everyone, I'm healthy and happy again :)

So that means we got to work this week!!! Well, starting on Thursday... haha

On Wednesday we had a conference of all the missionaries in Mato
Grosso do Sul with President Reber. We had the sisters from Dourados
stay in our house Tuesday night (that was crazy) and the conference
started at 9:30 am and we got back to our house at 6;30pm!!!! But WOW
IT WAS AMAZING!!! I learned so many things and got so much
motivation! It was awesome. Also since President Reber is leaving in
June this was the last time he´s gonna see us, so he gave us all an
``exit interview`` so he talked to us about marriage, haha, it was
pretty funny.

Also this week we had lunch with an Irma that lives about an hour from
our house so we started walking there and...............
DOWNPOUR!!!!!!!!!!!! and Sister Camargo's umbrella broke so we were
huddled under mine walking on the side of the road in a downpour,
haha. When we finally got to her house we were SOAKING wet, (the
umbrella didn't work too well with 2 people) but it was super awesome.

And nothing too exciting happened this week since we only left the
house starting Thursday. But here's some scriptures I found this week
that I love!!! st john 16: 22, 33

Love you all, love brazil, love being a missionary.

I think im finally in Brazil..........

3 things happened this week.

1: my new companion is Sister Camargo! shes super hilarious, super cute and brazilian. she cries when she listens to Glorious by David Archuleta and my brain has pretty much switched over to portuguese with her so the other night she goes ``boa noite... i love you`` and i said ``i love you.... whats that??`` hahaha we got a good laugh. Oh also, another thing about her, ALL of her companions have gotten sick.

2: i got sick. with a brazilian infection called Dengue. basically i had a super super bad fever and the worst headache ever all week. so we finally went to the doctor and they took my blood (dont worry, i still passed out) and ran all these tests and found out that yeah its dengue........ so im basically supposed to stay in my house until it gets better. haha so if anyone wants a bracelet just let us know, were gettin pretty good at makin em.

3: i got a call from the mission office this week ``Hi sister lloyd! so, the mail system is holding one of your packages hostage. they think it has something in it thats a threat to the government. (muffin mix is pretty threatening stuff!) and they want you to pay 250 reis for it. (about $80)``

 awesome. thanks brazil.

but other than that everything is perfect and i still love brazil. haha also 3 of the irmãs in our ward gave us chocolate easter eggs (not the tiny ones...... theyre huge.) so we´ll be eating those for the next couple weeks. (another 8 kilos, here i come!!!)

tchau tchau!

more MIRACLES!!!!

This week we were trying to find a Less Active but we turned down the wrong street but made a contact with this man who seemed pretty interested and then we were walking back towards the main road then all of a sudden we hear ``ELDER!!`` and we looked and each other and were like ``..elder?`` then we heard it again ``ELDER!!`` and turned around and this lady was running out of her house towards us and then told us that shes staying there for the week with her uncle and her son (her son lives with the uncle) and she said her son hasnt gone to church since he moved there because he doesnt know where the chapel is and he only speaks spanish (guess i better learn spanish...) and she was talking to her uncle about it 5 minutes earlier and he was like ``well sometimes the elders walk by here so just be on the lookout for them. they can help.`` and then she went outside RIGHT AS WE WALKED BY!!!!!!! there definitely was a reason we went down the wrong road and talked to that guy. if we wouldve walked passed a minute earlier she wouldve missed us!!! The Lord truly does know EVERYTHING!!

Also this week we had lunch with this lady who told us about the relationships shes been in with men that are controlling and beat her and stuff and so we were thinking about it all day and were talking about what we´d do in that situation and how we´d handle it and what not and then all of a sudden Sister Pence goes ``well it IS possible not to fight and hit each other!! i mean just look at............................................. us..............`` and i just died laughing. hahaha it was so funny and awkward!!! also the only thing Sister Pence has wanted to do before she left was go to a zoo place to take a picture with a bird on her arm and yesterday was her VERY LAST DAY here and we were eating lunch before we went to conference and it was at our ward mission leaders house with his mom and so all of a sudden our ward mission leader walks into where we were eating and what does he have on his finger?? A BIRD!! he found it in the street the day before and just brought it home. hahaha but it was definitely a tender mercy!! haha

AND CONFERENCE!! was amazing. this is the most excited, the most prepared, the most questions ready, that ive ever been and so we get there aaaaaaand they dont have a way to let me watch it in english....... which was okay! i understood most of it but i have to focus pretty hard on whats being said that i cant really THINK about whats being said. haha but sunday was better since i think my brain was already prepped. but it was so awesome! and so nice to see a little piece of home! :)

Love you all!!

fica feliz!
